Coriolis may also use personal information if it has reasonable grounds to believe it may be useful in an investigation into an offence under a federal, provincial or foreign law, or to protect or defend a legal interest.
Retention of personal information
Coriolis retains the personal information it collects for as long as it deems necessary to conduct its activities.
At a User's request, Coriolis can delete from its records all personal information relating to the online shop or the newsletter when a User wishes to delete their account. The User must contact Coriolis customer service by email for this procedure.
Disclosure of personal information
Coriolis undertakes not to make public, sell, rent or share personal information with anyone.
Coriolis will only disclose personal information to third parties in the following cases:
the User has expressly authorized Coriolis to disclose the information provided for a specific purpose; the third parties in question act on behalf of Coriolis as agents or suppliers of goods or services, and the information is disclosed to them solely to improve the delivery of Coriolis's services. These third parties must comply with strict contractual conditions requiring them to maintain the confidentiality of all information and to use it only for purposes related to providing Coriolis's services and products; in accordance with the conditions applicable to a Coriolis service or to the sale of products, to facilitate the provision of the service in question or the sale of the products, in particular to satisfy legal requirements; if Coriolis is required to provide personal information in response to a duly rendered court order, a subpoena, an investigation by the authorities, or when otherwise required by law. Coriolis also reserves the right to report to law enforcement authorities any activity that Coriolis believes, in good faith, to be illegal. Coriolis may disclose certain personal information when it considers such disclosure reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property and safety of third parties and of Coriolis, or to ensure compliance with the User's obligations to Coriolis.
Security of personal information
The security and protection of personal information are important to Coriolis. Coriolis takes reasonable technical, contractual, administrative and physical measures to protect the personal information the User provides, including 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, where required. Although it is impossible to guarantee 100% protection and Coriolis cannot be held responsible in the event of theft, illegal use, unauthorized disclosure, loss, alteration or destruction of personal information by a third party, Coriolis has adopted rigorous methods that meet strict security standards to ensure the protection of personal information.
Coriolis employees who have access to this information may only use it in accordance with the principles set out in this Privacy Policy and with applicable legislation and regulations.
To protect the integrity of the data transmitted when you make your online payment, Coriolis has put several security measures in place. All transactions are encrypted at 128 bits during their transfer between the payment intermediary and your computer. Each session is automatically deactivated as soon as the transaction is completed. Despite this, do not leave an online payment session unattended. Also make a habit of always leaving your screen or session before stepping away from your computer, even if you plan to return within a few minutes.

Minors
Coriolis takes the required precautions to comply with applicable laws concerning the privacy of minors. The content of the Website is aimed at a general audience and not at minors. Coriolis therefore does not seek to collect the personal information of minors without the verified consent of the holders of parental authority or as otherwise permitted by law. If, however, you believe Coriolis is doing so, please let us know.
Collection of non-personal information
In the course of operating the Website, Coriolis may collect non-personal information about Users.
"Non-personal information" is information such as the Internet domain name (for example, "xyzcompany.com") and the Internet Protocol address (IP address) used to access the Website, the date and time of the visit, the pages visited, the type and version of the browser or operating system used by a User, and the website the User has just come from and will subsequently access. Aggregate information, such as demographic statistics on Users, the number of visitors and the average time spent using the Website, is also considered non-personal information.
Coriolis collects or obtains non-personal information in the course of operating the Website. For example, when a User chooses to visit the Website, web servers may automatically collect non-personal information that is provided through the browser or stored in a cookie or any other digital marker.
Use of non-personal information
Coriolis uses non-personal information to track the use of the Website and improve its operation, perform statistical analyses on the overall characteristics and behaviours of Users, measure demographic variables and Users' interests in relation to specific products and services, describe its products and services to third parties and potential business partners, and determine how and where the allocation of Coriolis's resources can be most effective. No personal information is disclosed in the course of such activities.
This non-personal information is necessary for Coriolis to gather the information required to count the number of visitors, the most visited pages, the technology used by the Website's clientele, referring sites and Users' countries of origin.
Cookies are fragments of information sent to the User's computer when they visit a website. They are stored, temporarily or permanently, on the hard drive, thus leaving a trace of the visit. The information may include information such as the date and time of the User's last visit, etc. Cookies can also improve the online experience by recording browsing preferences on a specific website.
The cookie files stored on the hard drive are harmless and can be read and deleted at any time. The User therefore has absolute control over them. This information makes it possible to know the total number of visitors to the Website and the duration of visits. When the User visits the Website, a cookie is created and stored on their computer, which allows Coriolis to "recognize" a User each time they visit the Website.
Many major websites use cookies. Most browsers are initially configured to accept them. If the User prefers, they can change their browser settings to be notified when a cookie is received or to refuse them. Although the User is not obliged to accept cookies, some features of the Website may not work properly if the browser is set to refuse them.
Hyperlinks to third-party sites
The Website may contain hyperlinks to third-party sites (the "Third-Party Sites") that will cause the User to leave the Website. Coriolis provides these hyperlinks for convenience. Third-Party Sites are not under Coriolis's control, and Coriolis therefore has no control over the privacy and confidentiality practices of Third-Party Sites. Consequently, any confidential or personal information transmitted through Third-Party Sites is subject to the privacy policy of those Third-Party Sites. It is the User's responsibility to review it in order to ensure the protection of the information concerning them.
